Kanade's time in the afterlife?

what confused me about this after I saw the ending was, how long was she there for. Yuzuru dies, his organs are donated, kanade receives his heart and lives longer, and Yuzuru ends up in the afterlife. Okay now what confused me is that if Kanade's life was extended because she was able to get a  heart, how was she in the afterlife longer than Yuzuru? I would have thought he'd be there longer than her unless his death lagged and it took him forever to end up there. Any thoughts :P

They already knew that Yui was actually human since she had the SSS uniform but because she wasn't a major member, prior to Iwasawa's disappearance, she seemed like an NPC.

I think it's likely that Otonashi wandered between the worlds for a while; the first chapter of Angel Beats! Heaven's Door shows Hinata talking to someone who looks like Otonashi (although we never see his face).

Yuri said that there were ways to tell humans apart from NPCs. I assume that's how they figured it out that Yui was actually human. If you ask that, then how do you know that any of the other members were actually human?

Yuri says that they know when a person is an NPC and when they are human (with the exception of Ooyama, but Yui's quite different from Ooyama). I assume that's how they knew Yui was a human instead of an NPC. In adition, there is time in the Afterlife. Why else would the Programmer wait around? If there wasn't time, then there would be no point to waiting for his loved one to arrive again in the Afterlife.

If you guys wanna reference to Heaven's Door then actually, I would think that it is true that the Afterlife's time is different from the Alive's time. Shiina is very, very obviously not from the time Yuri belong to. She talks about all the traditional things like it happens at her door steps every day and has no clue to what "game" means. Plus, she had made a note that she works as a physical-fight assassin, which is not something to be heard of in modern Japan. This had proven that time may cock-up between the worlds.

If that's true then we can safely assume that Kanade died later than Otonashi, but somehow arrive earlier than anyone else. Or, like I explained in another thread, the heart may not belong to Otonashi. Kanade received it from another donor, died, and came to the Afterlife before Otonashi met his accident.

As for Yui being NPC or not, I guess we'll only know the true reason when Heaven's Door reaches there. But from my guess is that when she arrives, she'll be so loud and so... pink. It just makes her so different compared to the rest of the NPC. She may have even done something that NPCs will not do just to get GirlsDeMo's attention, considering her obsession with the band (and now that we're sure that the band is formed before her arrival/appearance). Her difference from Ooyama's "NPC behavior" could easily be differentiate from her dress-sense and accessories and... Their hair colour. Ooyama pretty much has the same hair colour as all other NPCs. Only our SSS members has weird hair colours.

The Programmer may not be aware of the time differences. He may not have known any other humans around besides his lover, and therefore, unable to compare like what had proven to us (we witnessed as many humans as there can be in SSS). From what the few episodes had showed us is that SSS may very well even be the first "group" of humans to gather together in the Afterlife. Most humans the Afterlife had expected should be alone and wandering. We can't be sure.

If time difference exist, it explains why the Programmer never met his girl again too, with addition of the explanation given in the episode. Only a certain age group arrives in that Afterlife, and so if an average lifespan of a Japanese is 80~100 years old, and chances of her dying before 20 is 1/4 or 1/5, with or without regrets, which makes it 1/8, 1/10... With that times the number of lifes the girl had lived fully to age 80–100. It is very much impossible for anyone to wait for 800–1000 years without breaking down. And if 50% chances are that time differences do exist and even if the Programmer's girl did die with all the requirements, she may be sent to the Afterlife and had already moved on before the Programmer arrived, or, just get sent to the Afterlife even more than the 800–1000 years, which may make his wait up to 1600–2000 years.

And that is precisely why he realised that there really is no point waiting for his lover to arrive again and turned into an NPC himself!

There's obviously been some humans grouped together in the afterlife. How else would the Programmer have met the girl that he fell in love with? Yes, it was a glitch, but it shows that at the very least, it's happened before. In addition, in episode six, in the flashback with Kanade, if you consider it valid, there were three students besides her. Also, in the manga, the principal of the school has said that violence has happened before. If people are willing to resort to violence against innocent people, do you really think that they'd move on so easily? I would imagine that something extra ordinary would have happened in order for them to move on. And in the epilogue, Otonashi and Kanade meet. They appear to be about the same age, so Otonashi couldn't have stayed in the afterlife for more than a few months. If time didn't run about the same in both worlds, then how do they appear about the same age? And let's assume that in fact, time doesn't run even. Then how did Otonashi and Kanade arrive in the afterlife at about the same time? Yes, there was some difference, but they're from the same time period, and if time runs different, then it would be extremely unlikely. And yes, you could argue that the donor for Kanade wasn't Otonashi, but it was in the show and, as such, is the most valid explanation so far. As for Shiina, it's likely that she's after the Programmer's time. He understood that people needed to move on, and I don't think that he would have left loose ends before he turned himself into an NPC. Sure, he was crazy, but he was smart enough to create Angel Player. In which case, it may be possible for her to have remained in the afterlife for however long she was there for.

Well. It could be possible;

Otonashi died in the accident and donated all his organs. Kanade was is need of an organ, namely a heart, so Otonashi's heart was transplanted in her.

It is possible Kanade recovered from her comma, and left hospital. But then again, a car accident/crash or whatever could have happened to her, killing her.

Otonashi's soul may have wondered in other dimensions before coming to the after life. It is possible that the soul has to find his way to the afterlife.

In some episode,he said something about 'wandering around in some other world', and Kanade may have gotten to the Afterlife first.

The thing is, that Afterlife is supposed to be a place for Teenagers that couldn't enjoy their youth life right? So, we can assumed here that Kanade was died when she was a teenager (i can't really sure too), but...why? She received a donor from Otonashi, right?, the important one is How she can attend Afterlife earlier than Otonashi that died before her?, first, i can put everyone theory that "Otonashi had amnesia so he maybe had some progress", but beside that, i still confused with my first problem above, well idk either, THE WORLD WOULD NEVER KNOW

Omg, so many theories here xD Well, I don't know if Kanade and Otonashi meet each other in the real world and I wonder how they can meet each other because I thought that Otonashi stay in the Afterlife . I mean in the last Episode Kanade left the Afterlife and probably was " Born " again and Otonashi was the only Person in the studentcouncil so the Head Boy which is seen in an epilogue. So here Comes my question: How can they meet each other in the real world? It would be great if someone can answer my question ^-^ Ps: I ship Kanade and Otonashi so hard xD
